What we do
Founded in 1988 and based in Tooting on the Hazelhurst Estate, we've been doing this work for a long time.
Surplus and offcuts that would otherwise be waste, sold on affordably for creative reuse.
Reuse of materials as a way into making, creativity and skills for people of all ages.
Social welfare for people in hardship is one of our two founding charitable objects.
Affordable creativity from rescued materials
We've been doing this since 1988, on the Hazelhurst Estate, on premises generously supported by Wandsworth Council.

What our members say
For over a decade, the Work Play Scrapstore has been the most valuable resource for our home-educating family with two neurodiverse children. It has nurtured their passion for design, embedded sustainability values such as re-use, recycling, and circular economy thinking from a young age, supported their mental health, and shaped their futures, helping my son secure a place to study 3D Design at Kingston College. Without this resource, these opportunities simply would not have been possible.
Ellora Coupe, home-educating parent and member
“It’s like Christmas every time I come.”
Margaret, member for 5 years
